The saga continues. Near Kerrville, the compound comes under a vicious attack by a band of outlaws. Scott and John lead a group of men coming to their aid. The cavalry is on its way.
But it's ninety miles away.
The group fights valiantly but loses one of its own. The loss tears at their very soul, and threatens to rip them apart.
It also changes them, as a group and as individuals. They are now more hardened. More cynical. More suspicious of strangers.
And perhaps a little more aware that life really is a fragile and precious thing, to be treasured.
Tom struggles with a monumental decision that could change the makeup of the group forever.
And new love blossoms.

Scott is in San Antonio recovering from an illness. That, of course, means that there is less firepower left at the compound in the event of an attack. And, yes, there is an attack at the compound which ends in death.San Antonio is recovering (albeit slowly) with the assistance of a "rag-tag" police force. Parts of the city have also set up a block system in which the inhabitants work together to garden. And, the best part is that they share the seeds with others in need.
The "brick" turns out to be a most helpful tool for one of our heroes. A truly wonderful idea and one that the reader will not forget.
There is more hope at the end of this book. Finally, it appears that some recovery is possible.
Highly recommended.

An Undeclared War Countdown to Armageddon Book 4 edition by Darrell Maloney Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I like the series and have found myself connecting to the characters but I am unsure I will continue reading at this point. I seem to get less content in each subsequent book. 5% at the beginning is a series recap and then 5% at the end is a 'preview' of the next book. This makes each $2.99 purchase seem like a short story to me. This detracts from my overall satisfaction of the book.
Auther Darrell Maloney is one of the best in this post apocalyptic genre.. It is a real page flipper. try it, I think you will like it!
well written
This entire series is 4 star! I'm on Book 5 and really getting into the story. Stayed up till 1am yesterday, just couldn't put it down.
I Love, love, love this series! I can't wait to get my hands on part 5, (which was supposed to be out Nov of 2014 - but I can't find it on ) This series would make a great TV mini-series!
bought it without having any doubts it will be as good as the rest. looking forward to reading it
I am very glad that this author does not use violence to pump up his story. So many are all about killing and pillage. I enjoy these characters and learn something new about prepping in each novel. Well worth reading.
